We all know a bit of air in the tube prevents having to start all over from the tube being pinched.
I figure around 5psi is a good protecting pressure.
Anyone else use more or less with good results ?

This is the vid I went off of when I was learning how to do tires. He goes over how much air to fill the tube.
Without the constraints of a tire around it, the tube would expand pretty significantly even with a few pounds in it. Just give it enough to attain a rounded shape, which should approach zero psi - equilibrium with the outside atmosphere.
