250sx all stock 50:1 premix, fmf gnarly pipe stock muffler

I live in Toronto so elevation sealevel

So far I tried

1. br8 plug, 42 pilot, 155 main, stock needle 3rd clip, air screw to taste ---- result : rich af, boggy down low rips up top

2. br8 plug, 40 pilot, 155 main, necj 3rd clip, airfuel screw to taste ---- result: plug still a bit too dark but not oily

3. br8 plug, 40 pilot, 155 main, necj 2nd clip, airfuel screw to taste ---- result: plug burned real clean, too clean looks a bit lean. only ran for about 30 minutes hammering down

You need to go up on the main to at least 170 with necj

What plug, pilot and needle position do you recommend? Why the 170 at sea level? thx for your suggestion

Necj is leaner than the stock KTM needles we run a 40 or 42 pilot with that needle third clip. We ride at Field of Dreams in Jersey a lot which is at sea level bike runs great. If you like to scream the bike I go even a little higher to a 172 on the main. That needle makes the KTM run a lot cleaner on the bottom I could never get the jetting right with the stock needle. We always use br8ecm for the plug.

I had a 2013 and was running a billet APT Smartcarb on it, I did have to trim the air boot connector. Cleanest running 2 stroke I have ever owned and made really good usable power imo, maybe just a bit soft off the bottom. I know that a lot of guys have also had success w Lectron.

Don't have a smoker any more, so was gonna put the Smartcarb up for sale, if anyone is interested.

thanks for the imput will check it out on Tuesday when i have the time!! open to more suggestions aswell!!
