I have a yz250 with a GYTT clutch cover. (Bronze). The anodize is starting to rub off pretty bad and I am wanting to take the anodizing off and just have a clean silver finish. Anybody know how to get it off without rubbing the cover to thin?

Scotch brite wheel or a brass wire wheel will do the job

I’ve already tried that. Scotch brite or brass wheel won’t touch it

Then go to the next aggressive abrasive or have it blasted.

Find someone with a Water Blaster won't change the tolerances or make it thin but will remove the coating. Vixen water blasters

Caustic soda does the same thing. It will leave a dull finish.

Strong oven cleaner will work as long as it contains Sodium Hydroxide (caustic soda). Mix about half and half with hot water and leave to sit until all anodising is removed (should take about 15 minutes max). Use scotchbrite then to clean up and polish depending on the finish you want.
