Gday from Australia!
My YZ250 clutch cover looks cruddy. I’d like to strip it back to bare magnesium. It looks anodised to me instead of painted, but I am unsure. I’ve used sodium hydroxide to remove anodising from aluminium parts, but haven’t tried it on the magnesium clutch cover yet. Might try paint stripper first.
Has anyone here successfully cleaned up their mag clutch cover?
Apologies for the Aussie butchering of both ‘anodising’ and ‘aluminium’.
