17 FC450. Has anyone messed with the stock muffler, as in removing the baffle in there to improve flow? Was it worth the time and effort? Did you get any noticeable change? I can get a decent deal on a couple different pipes but like to tinker with stuff.

The older I get, the faster I was.

The two perforated cones in the exhaust are welded in and are a bitch to get out, in my experience. My advice is to remove the stocker, throw it in the trash and buy a slip on or full exhaust from Tokyo Mods. They will do a free remap as well. Made a huge difference on my FX450.

This is basically what my research has come up with.
Except, I’m planning to keep my stocker :-) as a back up if a track I get to comes under some sort of “sound Nazi” rules.
(Sometimes I Race Supermoto at “one off” tracks set up in the city.)

If the ktm muffler will fit the huskys i got my stock one laying around if you want to try it.. If iam not wrong the ktms dont have that insert.

I have a FMF 4.1 muffler on my 17 450 now but before that i had a 2016 ktm 450 muffler laying around so i threw that on to make it actually rideable for a couple of weeks and it made a world of difference. No more cough out and flame outs like i had before. Cheapest fix if you know somone with a KTM stock take off muffler.

Do you rate the FMF another step up over the KTM muffler?

Thanks, I do have a line on a 16 KTM muffler to try for now. I was at John Burr Cycles today and Nick there who races Works likes the Yosh systems. He was looking for a slip on and was going to make me a good deal if they had one.

I’ve got a Ti FMF 4.1 Full System coming.
It’s only money, right?

(The more I spend, the faster my bike looks....... in the pits)
