Had the bike for a year, put about 15 hours on it so far (sadly) and lately struggling with the set up.
I've got the sag correct on the shock after an upgrade to a firmer spring rate. I ride one track mostly, ClubMoto in Livermore for any locals who know it.
They have some jump faces where I am bottoming out on the face when I seat bounce them. Yet on square edge bumps the bike is harsh feeling. I'm 6'4" and about 180-185 lbs before gear. Do I need to add more HSC in the shock to help? I'm maxxing out the low speed adjuster which I found odd, and getting rear fender buzz from the tire. It's this weird zone of the bike feeling soft one place and too firm in another and running different fork pressures doesn't seem to affect me as much. I'm really good at adjusting MTB suspension but I'm at a loss with getting this KTM to feel dialed in so just curious if anyone had some tricks they found with getting the stock KTMs right.

Yeah sounds like you need more HSC and less LSC. Also, running the shock rebound in just a few clicks too much can make it harsh on chop.

What weight spring are you running? I'd say you need a 48NM.

Yeah Man, I think you'd really like a 48NM. I am almost the same weight as you but a lot shorter. I am running a 45NM and it is still a little saggy but I dont want to jump up to a 48. At your height and weight, I think you are going to be using way too much damping with a 44 when you should really be on a 48.

I'm wondering the same. I know I can put added leverage on the bike being taller. Maybe 42 to 44 is just not a big enough jump and I am riding too low in the stroke.

I think it's around 30mm static and 102mm on the bike.
I'll have to add some HSC next ride. HSC was at 1 turn out so I'll try 3/4 out.
Reb 12 out and LSC set to 3-4 out.

From what I have read these bikes require careful shock setup to get the balance right so I'm hoping to find that solid feeling without having to drop more coin on tuning than necessary. I don't think my skill or track conditions are too much for stock stuff.

If you live in Santa Cruz and ride Club Moto, go see Rich Dandalo at Santa Cruz Suspension.

He will get you more than dialed!

I get most of my parts and suspension stuff done with Rich. He's great.

Make note of where your clicker settings are now! Then go back to the stock setting, go ride see how it feels, then go the opposite direction you are now see how that feels, that might give you a better understanding of what you’re feeling,
Oh and I’m assuming you don’t have a seal or bladder blown out
If you still can’t get a happy place, probably need a revalve!

You need a 48nm spring.

I'm not ruling out that a stiffer rear spring is a good option to try. Will have to order one to try out.

I weight 200 and run a 50 spring on my 250sx and agree with the others, go 48.

I think I have one if you’re interested, it’s oem wp spring.

I also ride A 350, I weigh 190 and change, and went to a 48 spring on the rear, with that spring in the proper settings and sag, it made all the difference in the world.

That’s awesome. What are your fork settings?

What made you go to 18 out on the fork?
