I'm using 1/4 inch staples, the same size as I pulled out of the seat. I've tried a hand stapler and then went out and bought a power stapler and both can't drive the staple into the plastic. Is a pneumatic stapler the only kind that is powerful enough for this? I noticed that the staples I pulled out were wider than the T50 staples I have, so most likely they were put in with an air stapler from the factory.

I use a Harbor Freight air stapler with 3/8" staples and have had great luck.

Heat up the seat base with a heat gun and then shoot the staples if you’re in a pinch. Pneumatic is the way to go though.

dude you need split point staples...fix you right up. Regular chisel point staples are no good for seat bases. I use a craftsman manual stapler with split point staples. No probs at all.

This is what I’ve used for the last dozen years and have had no problems.
