What are you guys using to pull bearings out of cases and case covers? I need to change the power valve shaft bearings(I think). I have a slide hammer set from harbor freight but the smallest collet is too big for the bearing.

I heat up the case in the oven at 250° for 1 hour. Lay the case down so the bearing has the opportunity to fall out. If it doesn’t just fall out, take it out of the oven after an hour and tap the case from behind the bearing in an attempt to shake it out. It should drop out.

Youll want to get a tusk set from rocky mountain.

Turn it to an angle where it can drop out and heat the case with a heat gun

Yank the bearing cage out, push the bearings off to one side and remove the inner race plus the now loose bearings. All that's left is the outer race and the Harbor Freight slide hammer will work.
