Just bought a 2017 Kx 450f and not so sure about the airfork. Have a chance to buy a used spring conversion and just wanted to see if anybody has tried this ? Anybody have any opinions or suggestions on the conversion ?

i have the FC spring conversion on my 17 kx450 and its pretty good i didnt think the air fok was bad i just didnt want to dick with it i want to pull my bike out and ride
I was about ready to start a thread about air to spring conversion also. Im curious about opinions also. I know one poster here didnt like the weight of the spring on one side of the fork. He said it handled weird. I'm open to other opinions too.
Had the race tech kit on my 16. Loved it, easy to install and set up. Front end feel was a lot better with the spring as well.
I've done a few. Clean kit, and very easy to install. I still feel air can work though. Depending on your weight. But some riders don't want to mess with the three chambers. Just get the valving right, and a spring swap is a better option than swapping forks imo.
Livin' the dream, two wheels at a time!

I had TBT in Az do my tac to sff conversion. They use oem Showa parts. These forks are great!! I did tune them a little (a few clicker adjustments and added oil ) but after that, wow!
Does anyone know what it would take to make your own air to spring conversion parts for the TAC?
I assume you can just buy the KX250F spring cartridge, spring, fork cap, etc and bolt that right into the KX450F TAC leg?
It looks like I can get those OEM parts for like $300, and would just do the conversion myself, but I'd like to make sure there isn't any machining or something that I'm overlooking.
I just bought a used one off ebay with spring shipped to me for $ 410.00. Enzo will do the install with $ 80.00 bucks so for $ 490.00 I'm hoping it's worth it. I have had my 2017 for a month and could not believe this was such a great idea messing with 3 chambers to make one fork correct.
