After opinions, I am looking at getting either a 350 or 450. I have ridden a 250 for the last couple of years and am now racing motocross in the vet class. Mostly sandy tracks. I’m 44 and weigh about 85 kg. I will be going for a husky at this stage

350. Just did it myself. Pretty much same age and weight. I gave the 450 up last year and built a 125 up. The 350 felt like the 250 handling wise but way more power. The 450’s don’t rev out well. I like a bike that revs freely and the 350 does it great. Be awesome on the sand track if you like to rev.
I just got a FC350

The husky 450 is incredibly smooth i feel like its smooth and still light enough to not have many disadvantages.

I had a 350 and loved it, except sometimes how long it takes to spool up was too much for me. Wanted some more grunt.

Many 450s are too strong off the bottom, but the 350 was almost too lazy off the bottom.

Got an 18 rmz450 and its working well for me. Its manageable off the bottom and pulls smooth bottom to top. Runs out longer than i expected also. Exactly what i was looking for.

Alot of my opinion depends on how much you ride... If you are out 3x a week or more, 450s offer a lot of advantage and your conditioning will be on point. But if you ride less, the 350 over a longer moto will be more forgiving... I've owned and raced both and find the 350 nearly the perfect size...

Thanks for the info, I think it will be a 350 as it appears to be the best option based of my riding time available and probably my riding level of experience. Also sounds like I will probably have the most fun on it as a 450 can become a bit of a handful later in a moto and towards the end of the day.
