I ordered new springs for my 2017 Yz450f from racetech. The new shock spring is a bit shorter then the oem one. Can I run this or do I need to make a spacer of sort? If I need to make a spacer any suggestions. Sorry I'm a lefty loosey righty tighty kind of guy so I do fine if things go back together the way they came apart but if there's a difference I need a little help lol.

Do you have plenty of threads left on your shock to get enough preload on your spring? If so you should be fine without a spacer.

I didn't put it back on the bike yet. I started thinking about it after I posted and realized it shouldn't really make a difference.

I'll throw it on tomorrow, check the sag and go from there. Thanks for the quick reply!

Measure free length, install, run about 5-7mm of preload. Anything over 10mm to get your sag right is pretty excessive. How much shorter is it??
