I took apart my RM125, and wanted to cerakote the rear shock body,
is it possible to sand blast the threads on the shock or do i need to mask them ?
Also what is the general rule about cerakote and aluminum pcs like this ?

Cameron niemela has a youtube video where he cerekotes the shock body. I believe he does sandblast the threads. His video will literally walk you thru it step by step. Dudes videos are super high quality. ">

Speaking of Cameron N., get that blue tape he uses. Wrap the threads with that. Then wrap a second layer of Gaffer tape around that blue tape for a stronger protection.

Rather than sand blast, I would recommend just smoothing the whole body out of the machining marks, get everything smooth, and just have it Kashima coated.

But if you are sold on Cerekote, then yes you will need to media blast the body. Still try the above tape method of the blue plus Gaffer. The media won't immediately punch through the Gaffer and would give you some leeway.
