To make this all short, dumbass me when I was 19 over tightened the shroud bolts on my 2005 rm125. Said bolts are now stuck and the brass inlet is just spinning and stuck. I can't get it out, so for now I'm looking at getting another tank. I'll keep the original and probably eventually fix it.
But, to get to the point, I found a good used gas tank from a 2001 rm125 for $50. My question is, Will it fit on my 2005? I know there are slight differences from 2001 to 2005 and don't know if the new tank will work.

Put 8mm socket on a rattlegun/impact driver and loosen the bolt whilst pulling on the shroud.
This should spin the thread sleeve loose and the whole thing should come away from the tank.
Remove the thread from the back of the bolt and glue it back in place and re fit your shroud.
