Removing stuck lock on grip

Hey guys, struggling to remove the stock emig grip on the 06 rm250 I just bought. Screw is all the way out, used a screw driver to pry the clamp open and it won't budge. Even tried to whack the grip with a hammer in an effort to crack the plastic tube.

Bars a pro taper which I know is usually a tighter fit on lock on grips. Any ideas on how to get these off?

Grab it with a good pair of channel locks, and try to twist it. Maybe soak it with some penetrating oil between the bar / grip.
