I am looking at building my 2014 RMZ450 engine. I want to do a ported/flowed head. Not sure of what else I would need to go along with the head. Valve train (valves/cams), piston stock or high compression. Should I use stock parts or aftermarket?
I'm looking for a broader stronger powerband.
I already have a Yoshimura full exhaust. Will probably need to add a Vortex ECU with the engine mods.
One builder recommended using stock valves/cams/piston along with the flowed head for reliability.
Other engine kits like the old JGR one used a flowed head with web cams, high compression piston.
If anyone performed this work on their bike, what parts did you use? Results?
Also, do the cylinder heads interchange on all years?
Looking for any suggestions/advice that can help my engine build.
