I have an RM80, idles fine and will do so all day long and if I ease on the gas it will revv all the way out but if I just snap it and "floor" it, it will bog out and die if I dont let off. But other wise it runs fine. Did some power valve adjusting which helped. Before it wouldn't even rev as where it does now but just can't hit it to fast. Any ideas?

The bike is running lean. Try turning in the air screw to richen it up and if that doesn’t work try a larger pilot jet.

Update: messed with the power valves and reset them to where the manual asks (one turn) and still no dice, also they slide in and out easily as they should so I guess that wasn’t it.

130 is on the low side of what it should be. At about 120 or so it will not run. May be time for a new topend.

Interesting observation, any idea of the normal operating compression? I guess before I declare a new top end ill make sure the carb isnt screwy but its stock so that may be it.

Should be about 160.
How many hours on this top end?
