I have an 05 RM250 which i bought back in 2013, it has unfortunately been in storage for a few years now andwas hoping to get it back out on the track this summer. So, I thought i would start by getting a full suspension revalve. Tonight i removed the rear shock and i noticed it has a sticker saying 'Showa RM125'. So my question is how will this effect getting the suspension set up and is it worth getting a revalve or am i better trying to source a RM250 unit? I have no idea how it ended up on there and im sure the suspension settings will differ betweem the 125 and 250's.
I would set your race sag, then see if it has the correct free sag. If so, run it and and see how you like the shock valving. Who knows, it might be great!

There is no guarantee that stock suspension will work perfectly for you on either bike, especially if you are prodigiously talented, significantly overweight/underweight, or like an unconventional setup.
