Hi everyone.

I've got a super clean 06 RM125.

I'm going to be doing a rebuild on it shortly and was after some advice.

Exactly how bad are the gearboxes in these? Mine works great for now. I'm also very sympathetic on the box when shifting.

So I guess the question is - while I am in the motor is there any preventative work that can be done to ensure it lasts longer or solve any issues before they arise? Is there a better oil I can use after the rebuild?

And finally does anyone know if the parts are still accessible if the worst comes to worst in the future.

Cheers

Check the shift forks, they are always first to go for whatever reason.

I hear it all the time that RMs bend shift forks, I’m convinced they are made of butter.

Cheers,

I'll add it to the list of things to check.

I've had rm125s and rm250s and put lots of hours on them and not a single gearbox issue.

Clutch on the other hand....
