What oil brand are you wanting to direct the coversation to?

Edit: Nevermind, your astroturfing friend, kb228, (or you with another account) mentioned it.

Any modern oil is good. It's more about getting your jetting dialed in.
I have run Pennzoil, Golden Spectrol, Suzuki CCI, Yamalube R, Motul 800, Bel Ray and Maxima SuperM with no oil related problems. People are running everything there is with a major label and there are few of any oil related problems reported.

There is no “best oil” but only what you like. Personally my dad and I have used this Klotz Super techniplate for as long as I can remember. I will say this is the “best” smelling two stroke oil you can buy!

How clean does the Super Techniplate burn? Any problems with gumming or carbon build up from the castor? I have been experimenting with Klotz R50 but I am not sure that I am sold on it yet, I have been thinking of giving the super techniplate a try.

Lucas smokless low ash oil . That is what I run 60:1, never had “splooge” or fouled a plug.

What kind of riding do you do? What size bike? Those questions are very important. If you're an aggressive mx rider and a revver on a 125, Castor 927 is your best bet. Gives the best protection at the highest temperatures. If you're more of a novice, like me, a synthetic oil would be your best bet, so that it doesn't gum up your motor. I used 927 for a year, great oil, but I noticed alot of gumming up, especially in the silencer. My bike wasnt jetted spot on, but still, I didn't like what I saw. So I switched over to Maxima K2 synthetic and like it alot better. Amsoil Dominator is apparently another good synthetic oil. All the top name brands have been tried and proved to be good oils.

I run Amsoil Dominator in my bike with C12 and recently U4.4 mixed 60:1 and I also run it in my shifter kart (CR125) with C12 mixed 32:1. Its been great in both engines and no gumming, splooge or fouling.

This is what I run in my YZ now, but I actually prefer H1R. That or Maxima K2. The Yamalube is a little dirtier.

927 is the best smell on Planet Earth, but it's really made for kart engines, guys. Power valve engines tend to get cloggy with that stuff.

Shhhhh!!!! Don't say that around here. The 927 guys will tear you apart Wink

I was always told by professional mechanics that 927 was more for race bikes getting pulled apart constantly and having the PV cleaned every time. Maxima K2 I was always told would work, but was more for high revving minis like 65's 85's and drew the line at 125s.

You can run 927 if you don’t lug around.. i know a pro level guy ran 32-1 in his yz250... motor was clean when he took it apart, then again he was wide open all the time
