Normal for some smoke out of the muffler during 4 stroke break in?

Is this normal? It smells like some oil or grease used when fitting the pipe is burning off. I’ve never had a new bike so this is new territory for me.

Yes, everything should seat quickly. It’s an issue after the first few hours. It shouldn’t pop or backfire either.

It shouldn't take a few hours to seat the rings. It should take about 10 high load pulls to seat the rings. If you are babying the motor too much, the rings won't seat properly and you'll likely notice smoke for longer.
