New noise from CR250 bottom end

2006 CR250
It started making a noise about two weeks ago
Sounds like the chain when you spin the back wheel
However it makes the sound while in neutral and running
Sounds like it’s coming from the bottom end or clutch
Did a top end last week and rod had no up and down play
Couldn’t feel any play in flywheel
Can only hear the sound while while not on in the powerband
It’s not detonation/pinging and it’s not a clacking sound like a lower end bearing
Could it be the bearing the clutch basket spins on?

Pull the clutch lever while it is running in neutral. If the sound changes, it is the clutch basket bearing. If not, it is something else.

Damn, pulling in the clutch didn’t make a difference.

Crank bearings..... I should have taken a picture of the one I just did. Sounds like same scenario. Plan on 07 oem crank and oem crank bearings to do it right

use a mechanics stethoscope to find the bad bearing area.
