New KTM 22.5/23 Shock spring

9/4/2022 7:59am
Does anyone know of any company’s making rear springs for the new generation ktm’s. Looks like WP springs aren’t available yet. I’m looking for a 5.2kg. I think the only difference between the old and new is 20mm. 260mm to 240mm. Thanks

Try Diverse Springs. They have high quality chrome silicone springs.

I used the 5.2 stock spring CRF450 on my buddy's 22.5 Rockstar. Pretty sure that it was a whisker over 240mm long, but it fit perfect.

The CRF 450 is 240mm but unless the '23 changed the Wp springs are 63/63mm ID and the Showa springs are 65/67mm ID. It will work but I'd keep an eye on it because the extra ID can cause it to shift enough for the coils to rub the shock body

I was able to use the older 260mm long spring in my 23. the preload adjuster is closer to the top of the threads but it works fine. 20mm is 0.79". see how many unused threads are at the top with the stock spring, depending on how much preload you need it might be fine

Slip, couldn't you have a delrin spacers turned down to fit inside the spring end or ends to take up the gap and keep the spring stable/in line as it compresses?

Yes absolutely you could.

Eibach always supplied a reducing collar with their springs for 46mm shocks because they could fit the older 46mm Showa shocks and with the reducer work on the 46mm KYB with no slop.

AEO/REP in Murrieta has a good stock in varying rates for the 23 specifically and can ship.
