I just picked up a brand new left over crf 450 and when I was riding it the forks felt very harsh. Is this because they haven’t been broken in yet or is this how air forks are. I’ve never felt with air forks before.
The Shop
Would suggest buying a Progressive Suspension compact pump part #GP3-60 RockyMountain has them for just under $50 dollars I think? Or whomever your preferred parts vendor should have it.
Set and check your forks at the recommended 35psi every time you ride.
Would also suggest trying 3-4 clicks out on compression *stock should be 11* should help with the harshness.
Set your sag around 105mm
Get some seat time on the bike, play with the clickers, then send it out to get revalved so you can give whomever some solid rider feed back and they can adjust it per your needs.
Also when you decide to have the suspension revalved - ship your steering stabilizer along with it - well worth the extra few bucks, RaceTech makes a goldvalve kit for it as well.
