Need help to identify engine part

Doing my total rebuild on my yz250f 2012, had sorted everything in groups and took pics but can't find where this little bugger is going.

That looks like the oil pumps pressure check valve that goes between the engine case halfs. If in fact that is it, then there is also a check ball seat in the stator side of the engine case as well that is needed, but may still be in the case.

thats the gear indicator, it goes in the end of the shift drum where the, black, cover behind the shifter bolts on with two phillips screws,spring first then the little rod, you can put it in when the cases are together

What's the purpose of it, identifying the shifter position?

it tells the ecu what gear you are in

Yeah I understood that, but I meant what does the ecu do with the information?
