Just finished my 05 kx 125 and it is literally 2" taller than my 04 cr 250. I'm only 5'4" so if for whatever reason I have to start this bike on flat ground, it's going to be interesting. Are there any ways to lower this bike a bit without sacrificing the suspension I had set up?

Sag is set and it's sprung and valved for my weight and riding, but lord is it tall. Running full RG3 linkage too if this is relevant, never rode it with the OEM linkage on.

A lowering link and raising the forks will help. Cutting the seat is popular too. That SHOULD be enough. If not then suspension places have the ability of reducing the stroke of your forks & shock to lower the bike.

Kawasaki 125s always seem to be tall af for some reason. My old one felt way taller than my kx450.

Cutting the seat foam is about the only option that isn't going to effect the handling and overall suspension feel. You could lower the subframe but then if you bottom out your hitting the tire on the fender sooner. That rg3 linkage should lower the rear of the bike.

Thanks Hondas. I would hate to see how tall a stock linkage bike is then! Maybe I'll get brave and bust out the electric turkey carver one day.

Well if it is actually the right linkage for that exact model and year it should lower the rear. If its for a different bike it might be working against you. Maybe try the stock link and measure each just to be sure.

I'm with the above post, sounds like you have the wrong linkage , the older Kx used a shorter shock that's probably what your linkages for. A guy I know had same problem think he had a 2003, had the wrong shock on it raise the bike up two inches shock was for a year newer KX

I will check that out, linkage is for an 05 RM but I am told and I also believe that those parts are interchangeable. I will measure linkage this weekend when I'm back home and report back. I've attached a picture as well. Can kind of tell how tall the bike sits,
