Hello! This question mostly reaches out too you that own a 18. ive had a 14 and 16, both bulletproof.
Thing is that i have read some things about them, and the problems include starter clutch and that sand easily gets into the airbox and therefore ruins valves etc.
The one im looking to buy has 8 hours on it if that matters.

Anyway i don't know, last yami i've owned was a 2012 YZ 125.

But theres been some somewhat recent threads where a guy bought a yz, the starter components went. Yamaha got him a new motor and that one went too. That doesnt include the barrage of other problems hes had with his brand new bike. You can read through those if you havent already. But just reading those makes me pretty weary of buying one. Yamahas have been known for reliability and it sounds like this specific bike dropped the ball. Every brand has their duds though, that could have been one of them.
