Double checked for any cracks in tank. It's leaking from where petcock seals to tank. Plastic was starting to peel at bolt holes but I grounded everything even with 100 grit sand paper. Still leaks... What else can I try?

Sounds like it is just the gasket. Was it replaced?

The valve will eventually start to leak with older bikes. The rebuild kits are cheap.

Or does that bike have the filter that goes up into the tank and has a O ring?

Correct... I don't see an oem part number for the o-ring. Will have to keep looking.

Replace the petcock and oring. ( about $60) or go to Harbor Freight and buy a metric o ring kit for about $10.

Rockymountain sells generic peacock o-rings for cheap. You need a new o-ring my cr250 did the same thing until I replaced the o-ring.

And if you don't have a local HF or want to wait on mail order, just take the o ring into any of your local auto parts store and they will sale you a single o ring. You will have to pay 2 bucks probably but you could grab it anytime.
