2016 CRF450R, cam chain broke 10' from the face of a gapped double. Fortunately I didn't wad up upon casing the landing (yanked as hard as I could off the lip to keep the front end up). I'd like to do a leak down test to confirm whether I bent the valves. Can you perform a leak down test without the cam chain? If so, anything special I'll need to do? Thanks.

Yes you can, just put it at TDC and hold it there like you normally would, doesn't matter if the cam chain is there or not. Just make sure the cam is set where it would be at tdc

As a quick test, check valve clearance. If you have a lot of clearance, your valves are most likely bent.

Youll have to turn your cams so they arent on the valves. But yes you can do it without the cam chain.
