Anyone know what type of paint KTM/Husky uses on their frames? I don’t believe it is any kind of powder coat, based off of how contact cleaner softens the paint. I am thinking of either having it sandblasted and powdercoated, or stripping the paint and coating with Steel-It.

Powder would be the way to go for durability.

While we are talking about KTM/Husky paint, does anyone have a good touch up for the Husky white?

I tried rustoleum appliance white and it’s too white and gloss white, the gloss white is closer but still “whiter” than the OEM paint.

Steel It is tough as nails, and you can actually touch it up. I prefer it over powder coat, unless I want a color other than black or gray.

I used some fingernail paint on the frame and it filled in perfectly you can look at it and not notice

The stock paint is Powdercoat. I’ve had a few frames sandblasted and repainted.

What did you do about the frame numbers and the metal plate ?
I paint over the vin. You can ask the painter to mask it.

My 18 husky tc 250 paint is absolute junk. Especially around the pegs. My 16.5 ktm fe never chipped at all. She’ll get powder coated next winter. Love the bike, hate the paint job.

That’s where mine is destroyed also, and along the bottom of the frame rails where dirt got trapped/skid plate rubbed.

It’s a bummer, that rust really “pops” against the white paint 😂

I wonder why they’ve gone to dark blue? 🤔
