Klx 140 won't start

Hey guys, my bike has been stored in the garage for 2 years ? I took it out a couple of weeks ago to get it ready for this season. I changed the spark plus, charged the battery, checked the air filter and took the carb out for a good cleaning. The bike is a 2013 and I am the second owner. I have never had the carb off of it until today and was shocked to find a thick layer of green algae in the float bowl. I sprayed it out really well numerous times with carb cleaner and cleans what I would consider to be 95% of what was on it, off. I worked at it for close to two hours today to get it as clean as I did. I've never seen a carburetor look like that before.
Anyway, when I put it all back together and attempted to start the bike I did start but then I had to shut it off right away because I realized I had the throttle set wrong. Once I got that sorted out it wouldn't start again. does anyone have any ideas or suggestions of what this could be?

I should add that I also drained the gas tank and put fresh gas in it.

Pull the carb off and do a very good carb soak clean in a good carb cleaner soak from the auto pats store. You only cleaned what you could see and this leaves the jets and internal carb passages still dirty and clogged up. Each jet will need to be removed and cleaned separately or replaced with new ones as they will have a very hard clear crust in all the orfices that a carb cleaner will not remove completely.
Doing any less will just not get the job done.

Thanks! I did have all the Jets out and cleaned everything with a carb cleaner but I didn't feel great about the float bowl even after I got as much off as I could with spaying and scrubbing. I hadn't thought of soaking over night so will definitely do that on my next day off! Thanks again!

UPDATE- I soaked the carburetor overnight, got all the dirt out, redid all the Jets and put it all back together. I had to adjust the idle a bit because it wasn't idleing on it's own but now it will only idle if the chock is left on. As soon as I turn the chock off it shuts off. My question is- is it just because it hasn't run in 2 years and needs more time to warm up or do I need to adjust the idle more?

Thanks!

Those KLX140 come super lean, especially on the pilot jet.
Thumpertalk has a few threads on carb and how to get it to start/idle/warm up easier.. They take a long time to warm up too because of the lean condition.
The passage the pilot jet screws into could still have some gunk. Fine wire, brake cleaner and air compressor are your friends.
