Kawasaki KXF 250 2018 fork

I have a Kawasaki KXF 250 2018. I think the fork is pretty harsh, specially in braking bumps, compared to my old Yamaha 250f. Do you guys have an idea how to fix it?

Yea. I have an rmz, same fork. Factory connection set mine up, way. Better. Worth the $$.

Is it set up for your weight? If youre riding too low in the fork stroke it will be harsh on braking bumps

Yes, that's my favorite fork on the market. They can be setup well, and future tweaks to the setup are easier with single valving fork. If it's a motocross application, they are right there.

Like others have mentioned, the SFF fork generally needs a tune to remove harshness. The fork comes equipped with a single, long and stout spring on that bike. If you’re on the light side of the scale like me, you need a softer spring. I settled at .88 spring @ 150lbs. I thought that would be too light, as I originally got a .92 spring but ended up preferring the lighter of the two.

Something to do in the meantime is to back out fork preload all the way soft. Counter clockwise. That should help get rid of (some) the initial harshness. I run fork preload between all the way soft and 4 clicks in, depending on terrain. I’ve suggested this to a few other people riding this fork stock, and they have all said it improved.

I have a ‘17 KX250F, and I’ve been battling the same thing. I had it resprung and revalved right from the get go, and the harshness is still there. If the track is pretty smooth, my suspension is awesome. Any decent breaking bumps form, and my hands and arms are getting worked. If the track gets super rough, I can barely ride the bike.

Who did the suspension? Fc will.do it until u are happy.

I just picked up an 2018 leftover and put some hours on it this weekend. I added a little pre load being that i am around 190-200lbs, then I slowed the rebound down 2 clicks and thought it made them work fantastic for a stock set up.

I don't crash, I just run out of talent
