Recently purchased a set of Kit KYB suspension and I am looking to have them set up for a YZ 125 that I am building. They are spring forks with a 2 piece rear shock. I am a B rider and weigh about 165lb. They are currently set up for a 170lb of similar speed but on a YZ 250 so I know that they will need to be valved and sprung to get the full advantage of having kit suspension.

I have a local guy who has been doing my suspension lately and really seems to know his stuff. However, I don't think many (if any) sets of kit suspension have been through his shop. I am wondering if I should give him a shot or if I should just send them to Enzo (or other big name suspension shop) who deal with this kind of suspension on a regular basis? Any thoughts or opinions are greatly appreciated.

Posted this picture on my build thread but figured I would post it in here as well. Will update with better pictures once the suspension actually gets delivered.

If it's KYB and for a Yamaha, I'd for sure go with Enzo.

It should only need to be resprung. The valving should be very good as is.

Another vote for respring only. Valving will be fine.

Your local tuner can do this, as well as complete rebuilds, with standard KYB parts.

Nothing any more special in terms of valving. If your local guy knows his stuff, you should be fine, especially if it needs tweaks here and there. It's like any other setup that is customized for your riding.
