Hi guys, I have recently rebuilt the engine on my Kawi and it barely has an hour. I am breaking it in the old way, by using it half throttle. However, oil is leaking from what I believe is an overflow hole, is it normal? If not, what should I do? Thanks in advance!

That looks to be from the spark plug cavity. It is there to let water evacuate from around the spark plug.
Are you sure your spark plug is tight?

Thank you bud! I didn't know it was the spark plug evacuation hole, now I know what to look for!

The seal that goes around the spark plug hole under the valve cover is damaged or missing

Or misaligned. It's not hard to pinch it when reinstalling the cover.

There is actually two one under the cam caps and one under the valve cover. They require a little grease on them when being installed. Those are "supposed" to be replaced at rebuild according to the manual

Thank all of you guys! Yeah first I will try to replace the one which goes under the valve cover, as I don't want to take the cams cap apart.

Wells as you can see the seal was pretty shot. Do you think I should also check the one under the caps or is this the only culprit of the oil leak?

Did replacing that seal fix your leak?

Replacing that seal and the oring fixes the leak. When they fail, oil leaks into the spark plug hole and flows out of the weep hole on the side.
