Hey guys, i a have question about new kxf engines(2014+). Is there still problem with oil screen ->metal shaving were stucked on it and cause oil pressure problem (faster engine wearing) and then completly stopped oil flowing. In other bikes like RMZ, YZF or KTM you can take this oil screen (from gearbox) out and clean it without completly engine disassemble. I am asking because i had problem with it years ago with my KX250F and now i want to buy KX250F 2018 so i am interesting in that topic again.

Sorry for my english, i dont use it every day Smile and thanks for answers Smile

The oil screen hasn’t changed since the earlier models, the cases still need to be separated to service/clean that screen. There is a secondary oil screen behind the flywheel that is easily accessed.

Despite the trouble to clean that screen, I’ve never had an issue with it clogging like you’ve shown. I’ve owned (2) 09’s, a 2014, (2) 2015’s, and now a 2017. I’ve torn them all apart a couple times each and have never seen the screen look anything close to that.

If you're clogging up that screen you've got bigger problems than just trying to access the screen!!

Thanks guys for the replays ! Smile so i dont need to be worried about it? I think the previous owner of my old kxf didnt take care properly about the bike. Maybe i will buy a drain plug with magnet to prevent clogging up this screen Smile

And Radfonz in the others bikes you can easly take this screen out and clean it to prevent clogging. Why not in kxf ? Sad
