Question for those more knowledgeable around here. I am interested in putting a 2011-2012 KX450F Kayaba fork on my 2016 KX450F. Reason being is I love my Yamaha front end and would rather have the Kayaba front end over the Showa TAC. I understand the triples will need to be changed, but how about the front wheel? Also, how about the brake hangar? Ideally I would find a set of forks and triples and be able to swap over my front wheel and brake hangar to the Kayaba fork. Or will I need to get the entire front end including wheel and buy a Galfer 270mm caliper hangar for a 2012?

Any input is appreciated.

i put 2007 kyb's in my 2016. only thing i had to change was front brake caliper bracket. everything else bolts straight in. no need to change clamps or wheel.

Really? That’s awesome! So you had to get an aftermarket 270mm size caliper hangar and that’s all? That would save a serious amount of money. Got any pics handy of your new setup?

Very cool! Thanks so much for the info. So I guess I can widen my search for forks given yours are off an 07.

This keeps getting better and better. Now I just have to find the right set of good forks with low hours.

Found a guy on Craigslist who traded me straight up. My TAC forks and pump for this clean set of 11 forks. They’ve got factory connection valving with .5kg springs and were recently serviced with SKF seals. I’m gonna ride them this weekend but will be dropping the forks and shock off at my suspension guy.

Everything bolted right up.

I think so. I was surprised he went for the trade. Especially considering what I see these going for here in the bazaar and on eBay.
