I have a 2015 KX250F with stock suspension. I weigh 190 without gear. Suspension feels mushy and the front end wants to tuck on turns. Even when I just turn around in the pits I almost dumped it a couple times like an idiot.

Am I just too fat for it and need beefier springs? PIng looks like's just as fat as me, he never mentions spring swaps in his videos and he hits big jumps. He just talks clicker settings.

I just trail and track ride for fun. Would like to eliminate the front end from trying to tuck on turns and wide sweeping turns it feels "floaty". On trails its not too bad, but I really notice it on the track.

Would stiffer springs help this or is it more complicated?

Thoughts?

I'm 6'2 195 naked and the bike I had (2012) was phenomenal. Check the preload on the forks you can adjust it, should have about 50-55mm of rider sag. I had the shock revolved and sprung , but that was after 49 hours and I ride mainly sand (Southwick). Again, I would check mxa for shock sag specs , if your tucking I think it's fork preload, go in 3-4 clicks on preload adjuster and see if that helps.

250f's generally aim for someone around the 155-175 mark, you need stiffer springs. Check out racetech's calculator, should give you an idea where to start

Best way ive found to turn on my kx is to slide and drift all the corners. But yea get stiffer springs and set your sag. Maybe a PC linkage too

Get a 5.6 for the rear, you can also use top mark on forks to set front height. 15 clicks in on preload adjuster on forks, from all the way out, with 10c 10r to start. Go with 105mm sag, 12 r 12c and 2 1/4 hc.

I am a big guy on a 2017 and need to get bigger springs. I keep going in a few clicks and it feels better but I know that if I had the correct springs my riding would improve quite a bit. There are videos online where they show exactly what to do on the SFF forks but I will take it somewhere to get done this winter.
