I had a 2016 450 SX-F and never had any problems with footpeg spring. But I now own a 2018.5 KTM 450 SX-F FE and I’ve now had the right footpeg spring break twice and the left one once. Has anyone else had this problem? Are there any aftermarket spring options made out of a stronger/fatigue resistant material?

Order a few rear brake pedal springs while your at it....they break no matter how you install them...

I broke both on my 250sx within 1 hour, got new OEM ones (mounted them correctly) and they've been good for 30 hours.

Just to be clear. It should like such? Because this is how I had it before

Anyone else had this issue recently?

We had a ride day cut short because both springs had snapped... I double checked the picture and they were mounted in the correct position

I wonder if vibration plays a part? The only spring issue I had was a spring completely disappearing off my bike, while the peg was still mounted. Never did find a reasonable theory on how that happened..

I stocked up on footpeg springs for my '18 and '19 KTMs but I never had one fail. I noticed that for '21 the springs have a gold finish where the '16-'20's had a grey finish. Knock on wood, I've never had issues but maybe KTM updated the material for '21? What year was yours Bruce372?

I snapped both on my 2017 sx when it was a few hours old. Got new ones and it never happened again.

I snapped my right side in five hours. Ordered DRC pins and springs and were flawless til I switched to fastway pegs.

I’ve never broken a footpeg spring, or a brake spring since that was mentioned.

I’m either lucky or so slow I rarely need the brakes.
