Getting ready to put the cases back together. The manual says make sure it's in neutral but doesnt exactly show what neutral should look like.
Everything shifts smoothly.

If its in neutral you should be able to spin both shafts seperate from each other.

Isn't that shift drum bearing suppose to be in the other case?

When I split the cases it came out with the shift drum.

That bearing hanging half off the shift drum may give a bit of grief during reassembly. Pull it off, and put it back in the case.

So I gave it a try and that was the only position they could spin freely. Makes a lot of sense when you visualize everything in your head. Thanks

I test shifting with cases together, no crank. Using a T handle on the shift drum bolt 9 on diagram, it's easy to find neutral and check shifting. Then slide cases apart and install crank on clutch side opposite of the pics above. Sure someone else can explain it better. Photo
