Seems RB - designs owner is in a quasi retirement state.

Has anybody filled that vacuum and become the go to for CRs specifically?

Not just a place that mills heads but somebody truly knowledgeable and by this time very experienced with the CR head needs to properly correct the squish, compression etc.of the gen 3 CRs.

Any feedback good or bad with other shops is greatly appreciated.

Try Ken O'Conner racing in CT. He's been at it for a long time and has several videos of what he does to all bikes and quads. I wonder if RB Designs would give you his specs for a fee. Then almost any machine shop could do it for you.

I have heard Pro Circuit has a spec for this work on the 3G CR250s.

Yes. They did an 03 for me about 15 yrs. ago & can definitely say they’ve done the R&D on the 3rd gen AF CR2.

Varner would be my 2nd choice. He knows these engines very well & knows how to make them sing.

Thanks for the advice guys....and if anybody else reads this it looks like RB is 100% retired and isn't doing them at all now according to this response I received from him.

I had Eric Gorr do my ‘05 and it worked great.

On my ‘03 it was already pretty close and with only the base gasket from an ‘05 it was very close.
