Installing dry side crank seals

Got my dry side seal and the old hot rods junk out. Using oem seal now. Which way do i install it? The old was flat side out and flush with the case. Also do i install dry or add a little bit of multipurpose grease to the inside diamater and outer diamter of the seal + inside of case?

Flat side out flush. No lube on the seals crankcase surface, but do put a bit of 2 stroke oil on the seals lip surface.

I used some 2t premix around the outside of the seal. I think i got it flush all the way. With the oems you can always feel a tiny edge to the seal correct?

No that was the junk hot rods seal from the wrench rabbit kit. I used oem replacements. I was scared to use a screw but i didnt even screw 4 threads into the seal and yanked it out.

You dont put a coat of grease on them?
