I am looking to improve my throttle response. I have stage 2 cams, full exhaust system, re-jet and the green wire mod. But am looking for a little bit extra in terms of response

Get a floatbowl from R&D racing. They sell powerbowl 2 float bowls that do exactly that. I have one on my kx250f and it feels just as responsive if not more than my efi 450.

Also ensuring your squirt is timed right is key.

You can free up some RPM by hanging a CRF piston in it, shorter skirt, and a 2 ring design... less weight and drag... only trade off is shorter piston life...

Airbox lid removed? Have you played around with needle position at all? Also, allot of good info over at TRX450R.ORG.

I forgot to mention that I removed the air box lid and did mess with the needle. The throttle response isn’t bad. But could be better

Jetting is one of the key elements, if you have played with jetting and are absolutely sure it is spot on then it is time to move on. As Paul stated may be time to move inside the motor if more response is what you're after.

Thanks. Was hoping I could do a little more before doing major motor work. But I guess that’s all there is left to do

Call Marc Baldwin at Baldwin Motorsports in Ohio. He's the man with those set ups.

whats your jetting? you keep saying throttle response, is it bogging or just doesn't have much power down low? the stage 2 hotcam looses some bottom end. You can try a 02 CRF cam if you want to get some more bottom end back. Are you running the stock piston?

Just to be sure, you ditched that Airbox lid, right?
I have a JE hi comp piston that I could sell you for cheap, as it is lying in my drawer since 2008 and I won't ever be able to use it, as I'm not going back to 4 wheelers.

Yeah the air box lid is gone. How much you want for it?

kind of both. I have it jetted damn near perfect, I even took it to get professionally done because I thought it was off and couldn’t seem to get it. No, I threw in a High Comp piston when I did the cam
