Already got the lock nut loosened now what. Kinda stuck and don’t wanna screw anything up.

You should use 6mm shaft clamps to hold the base valve post and unscrew the cap.

You actually separate the other end, where the valve came off. To minimize damage, I removed the o-ring left on there and headed that main shaft. It came off pretty easy then.
