How can you tell if your clutch is slipping?

I know it sounds like an easy question to answer but I was was watching a video on the Rekluse Core Manual. It's not their auto clutch, it's a clutch that has more fibers and disks than a normal clutch. The video had some famous racer and he said that you don't realize how much your old clutch slips until you put in a new one.

I've only had one clutch go on me where I could easily tell it was slipping when I gave it gas. How can you tell otherwise? How can you tell if your clutch is slipping instead of you rear wheel spinning?

You probably dont notice. My guess is the guy thought his wheel was spinning until he switched clutches and realized some of it was the clutch the whole time, because he got better traction.

Take your bike to a paved Road pull out and get into 4th or 5th gear real quick and Hold It Wide Open if the engine revs build real fast your clutch is slipping

+1 Paved road with heavy load like stated above. Go slow in 4th or 5th and grab a handful. It's obvious between slipping and just the engine getting up to speed.

If you change you're oil, you will see and smells it also.

Can’t you also get up to speed and hit the rear brake without grabbing the clutch, if the bike stalls it’s ok and if it doesn’t it might be slipping?

For me, third gear, medium speed, drag the rear brake hard while increasing throttle. No guessing if the clutch is good or bad at that point.

For me it’s that lack of response exiting a turn. Usually it turns out to be worn springs. Now if you are using a hydraulic clutch, new fluid fixes the slip. On my husky I would keep fresh fluid in it on a monthly basis.
