Hole in ktm 300 cylinder

I was at the track on Sunday, 2nd lap bike bogged down and I barely made it back to the truck. Pulled the head off today and found a hole above the exhaust port.Is this supposed to be there?

That’s normal; it’s a compression release hole. It angles into the exhaust port...

If it has a Mikuni carburetor, those have a tendency to leak and can cause a lean bog.
