I have a problem starting my carbureter equipped Honda CRF 250 2008. Compression, valve clearances good. Thorough cleaning of carb and jets. It will start easily with a squirt of starter fluid and it will start easily if I lean the bike on it's side and let the fuel flood from one of the overflows. I had exactly the same issue with a 2001 CR 250 two stoke. Any ideas?

Carb isn’t set right. Try messing with the air screw and make sure your float height is set correctly.

Is your jetting too lean? Sounds like its not getting gas. Check float height/pilot jets

Fuel screw set too lean and pilot jet size may be too small. Also check float height.

Thanks everyone! I will try the fuel screw and if that doesn't work I will try a larger pilot jet.
