So I’m building a bike from a frame up, and notice a few of the wiring harness connections have failed. I repaired the intake air temp connector, and am now onto the 4 prong plug where the starter button meets the harness.

My question is, to hard wire this in can I just run the black/white wire to the blue wire, the orange to brown, and omit the black jumpers? I know it works when I loosely assemble it that way, but I wanted to know if the black wires were there for any safety reasons, or if they were just filling a pin that’s normally used for key switch wires on dual sports.
