Thanks Billy! If anyone is looking for the blue Ti lowers I got them at Total Control racing. They weren't cheap. I had to drop a zero when I told my wife the price of them :-)

Post more pics of your GTO please! I can see it lurking in the background of the whiskey photo.

Dream car right there, my brother had a 2004 with the manual trans a long time ago. Besides the rear end that car was perfect, I would pay a lot of money for one of those with a solid axle swap.

Prices vary,. Support rider, hookup, loyal customer. Etc. Really depends how often you spend $$. there. Add turnaround time, it's a process. If one person spends $$ at Fc once every five years, his price won't be the same as a person who spends more often and sends customers. If that makes sense. Best idea call. them directly or another place that does kashima..

Haha here ya go man. It's a 2005 and I switched out a red tail lights for the 06 style but basically the same car. LS2 engine, 6spd trans. Custom grind CompCams cam & supporting valve train, DuSpeed over the radiator cold air intake paint matches, Nick Williams 102mm throttle body, FAST 102 intake, 46# injectors, Kooks 1 3/4" headers, Kooks catless mid pipes into a Corsa Sport cat back. The whole exhaust setup is stainless. Mgw-P short throw shifter, Lovells lowering springs, VMR wheels. Dyno tune of 451hp/433tq at the rear wheels

Bones says don't do it

Bones
Interesting article. But if he is against it, why do all the PC bikes have there suspension looking trick?
If you actually read the article he explains it fully. The works parts come from the factory with the coatings so the engineers factor in the tolerances. When you ship out stock stuff it has to be stripped, hand polished, then coated and now the close tolerances that the oem stuff came with from the factory no longer exist. He explained how stripping and re-coating the inside of a long tube is impossible to get right and how the lowers have to be hand buffed and clamped to get the lower clamps off. The works stuff is never coated in chrome, stripped, then refinished, its made with the better coatings from the beginning, thats why it can actually make your stuff much worse than stock.

This is certainly true if you have an inexperienced company strip and anodize your fork uppers, but if it's done correctly it's a non-issue. We worked with our supplier to specifically develop a stripping and coating procedure that holds the original tolerances and finish of the tube. This, combined with the new coating, results in a higher performance part than stock for the upper tubes. I'm sure Kashima is done in a similar, if not identical, process.

The lower tubes are a non-issue as the DLC (or TiN or whatever) coating is only a few microns thick. This thickness does not change the overall diameter enough to make any difference. The lowers are not stripped before they're coated; the coating goes right on top of the hard chrome coating. I believe the "works" tubes are hard chromed and coated over as well since the chrome provides an excellent surface finish and is a harder substrate than the steel underneath.
