I am curious as to how you figured out what parts you will need to make them work. I am currently in the middle of a ground up build on my 2004 RM125 and want to update the front end of the bike without changing the steering geometry much if at all. I know that there have been many bikes done where different front ends were used to acquire the desired forks, I am just curious if you guys have any info that may aid me in my pursuit.
Will it be as easy as shimming the steering stem and pressing the correct bearings, or will I need to press an RM stem into the other clamps?
Thanks in advance!

For me personally, on my swap ('07 KYB SSS onto a '95 YZ250), the triple clamps fit the headtube PERFECT. But I did have some hassle finding the right Honda brake caliper The front axle gave me a little grief because like an idiot, I used the '95 hub instead of just getting an '07.
I did not even consider triple clamp offset as I did not have the luxury of being choosy. I just figured I'd tune it work once complete. (It works fugging great!!!)
My next swap will go somewhat the same route. I think the biggest issue is getting the stem properly fitted in the head tube. So you have to compare bearing sizes and stem lengths. Seems like custom stems would get expensive quick and is something I'd try to avoid.
Let us know what you find out! Are you doing a build thread?
I do plan on doing a complete build thread, but I want to get all my parts gathered, or at least the majority of them first. I have the cases out for coating and the transmission out for micro polish currently. OEM crank just showed up, millennium 144 kit, VHM custom miller head, etc, etc. Im not cutting any corners on this one...
The Shop
1) New clamps vs original clamps offset (same or are you ok if the offset is different?
2) New clamps vs original clamps steering stem length
3) New clamps vs original clamps steering stem bearing part #s (same or different?)
4) New clamps vs original clamps clamping diameter (top and bottom individually)
5) Mock up on frame, do the clamps move and bottom out on each side as expected
6) New forks vs original forks take same spacers/wheel?
7) New forks vs original forks same brake caliper mounting or different?
I might just have to pull the front end off of my TC250 and see how well it all lines up 🤔
Thanks for the info guys. I’m really hoping this RM build goes as planned!
Did you see my earlier post with some of what is going into this build? I plan on doing a complete build thread but I want to get a good majority of the parts in and the more tedious work finished before I start a thread so that I am not drawing it out too long. I think that Suzuki/RM fans will like this one.
ps I love me some RM’s I have 3👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
