Any coating you likely put on with look like crap in short time.
May be better off just getting boyseen magnesium covers then thanks for the info

Cerakote will get you a finish like that.

Get the OEM cover and have it bead blasted. That’s the look you want and what’s done in that photo you posted. I also have it done to my clutch cover. It does stain and streak easily (like finger prints and water) so you need to wipe it down with wd40 after every cleaning.

Glass bead works nice too, did it to my 18 CRF450 to get rid of that crappy black paint.
