Have a 2009 kx250f in my garage. Took this “throttle stop screw” out while cleaning the carb and didnt count the turns or anything(i know im an idiot).

Is there some kind of procedure for setting this? Or a default height?

My service manual literally says nothing about it and google has turned no results.

Im guessing i would set the idle screw 2 turns out for my default. Start the bike, then adjust the throttle stop screw to get the proper idle rpm?

The KTM 250f’s from that era had the slide height set to 1mm if everything is stock. The stop screw adjusts that height. You should be able to pop the air filter out and see where you’re at with the gap. Use 1mm drill bit or round stock/equivalent under the slide with the throttle fully closed.

I don’t remember what the 450 and 505 base setting was, but 1mm is a good start. Just remember to make your final setting with the bike fully warmed up to operating temperature.

Is this “throttle valve cutaway” value what im looking for? 1.5mm? Thats close to your ktm measurement. I believe they used similar carbs.

I think the cutaway is the portion relieved (taper) on the rear (air filter) side of the slide.
